FUNNEL CAKE




Funnel cake in English (or American cake or drechderkuche in German Pennsylvania) is a dessert made of flour, sugar, butter, eggs, milk and yeast prepared by pouring dough from a funnel in a circular pattern.

° 2 eggs
° 240 ml milk
° 240 ml of water
° 375 g flour
° 50 grams of sugar

° 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
° 1 to 2 pinch of salt
° icing sugar

* Preparation:

Whisk eggs in a large bowl.
Add milk, water, and vanilla until blended.
In another bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.
Stir the dry ingredient mixture into the egg mixture until smooth.
In a frying pan or deep frying pan, heat the oil to 190 ° C.
Close the funnel with your finger.
Pour ½ cup of the mixture into a funnel.
Place the funnel several inches above the oil.
Release your finger and spiral the dough flow until all the dough is released.
Fry for 2 minutes on each side until golden brown.
Lay out paper towels.
Sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve hot.
