*ITALIAN-CREAM STUFFED CANNONCINI*

*INGREDIENTS NEED:

°Egg yolks; you will need 3.

°30 g All purpose flour.

°100 g sugar.

°1 t vanilla extract

°240 ml. milk.

+TO MAKE CANNONCINI YOU WILL NEED:

°Puff pastry, I used 1 thawed sheet.

°50 g granulated sugar.

*INSTRUCTIONS:

PREPARING THE CUSTARD:

Step 1:

In a saucepan, heat the milk until it warms a little. In a saucepan, combine the flour, sugar and vanilla extract with the egg yolks and whisk until fluffy. Milk should be added gradually and whisked until no lumps remain.

2nd step:

Bring the mixture to a boil in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the cream thickens.

Step 3:

Reduce the temperature and cook for a few more minutes until it reaches the appropriate thickness you want.

Step 4:

In a glass dish, pour the cream and cover it with plastic wrap and let it cool. Let cool for at least an hour before serving.

PREPARING THE PASTRY HORNS:

Step 1:

Set the oven temperature to 400 degrees. Sprinkle more sugar over the surface and top of the puff pastry, then roll it out into a rectangle about 9 by 12 inches. Cut the dough into 12 strips, then roll each strip into a conical shape, covering the crust by about half its length.

2nd step:

Put parchment paper on a baking sheet and lay the strip side down. Then whisk an egg with a tablespoon of water and gently brush each cone of dough with the egg wash.

Step 3:

Bake at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 15-20 minutes or until top is golden brown, cool for a few minutes, then carefully remove from pan.

Step 4:

Garnish every portion with cream and sprinkle with powdered sugar before presenting it to the table.

Enjoy !
