CUSTARD CAKE



**Ingredients:

°4 eggs (whites separated from yolks), room temperature
°1 teaspoon vanilla extract
°3/4 cup sugar
°1 stick of melted butter / 125g
°3/4 cup all-purpose flour
°2 cups lukewarm milk
°powdered sugar to sprinkle the cake

*Instructions:

Preheat oven 325 degrees F. Grease and line an 8” x 8” baking dish with parchment paper.
Separate the eggs and add the egg whites to a mixer and beat the egg whites until stiff. Put the egg whites in a bowl and set aside.
Beat egg yolks and sugar until light. Add butter and vanilla. Beat for two minutes. Add the flour and mix until completely incorporated.
Slowly start adding the milk and beat until well blended. Add the egg whites, one third at a time and gently fold them in with a spatula, repeat until all the egg whites are incorporated. Pour the batter into the baking dish and bake for about 60 minutes or until the top is lightly browned. Leave to cool and sprinkle generously with powdered sugar.
